So my situTionship/ ex was kicked out of the pool area bc I ran back up to the room to grab my phone and he didn’t know our room number whe they questioned him. It’s Vegas - we’re having fun & bc we just knew where our room was. I knew the number but he didn’t. He just knew where it was - so they kicked him out. Unreal. It was cheap but honestly so far from the strip and Ubers won’t drop on the strip & Ubers are a NIGHTMARE out there. We didn’t want to go out bc of it. We went out 2/4 nights because of that alone. so if you’re looking for a real NIGHTLIFE over the top on the strip type of Vegas vibe. Stay on the strip. If you’re more there for the experience, atmosphere, just vibing, vacation & a more low key type of vibe. Deff worth it to stay here. But for the 21 year olds who want pure night life - the Uber situation & how far it is from things is not worth it. Spend the money and stay on strip or try to get comped. The casino gave away my reservation ( wtf is the point of making it lol) so we were kind of like where else can we stay. But he’s trash and looks homeless so I kind of don’t even blame them for kicking him out. Lol but that did anger me when I was there and in the moment. ESP since we HAD A ROOM. That was not nice. But they must know trash when they see it <3 fufish

Arrived late at night for check in. We had called ahead as our flight was delayed. The older gentleman that checked us in was friendly but had a strong accent as was hard to understand. The Queen Suite was spacious but very outdated. The room I stayed in 151 needs a remodel as was 60’s. Had a musty smell but was clean best possible. It was 1 mile from the Convention Center.

First of all we only chose this place because everything was so expensive that night and we only stay at hotels that have no parking fee or any resort fees and we only stay at 3 star or better hotels. So to make sure of the parking & resort fees I called the customer service help line to book a room. I asked her were there any resort fees or parking fees & the answer was no to both questions. Then I asked her was this a 3 star hotel and her answer was yes. We get there and was told we have to pay for parking, then we proceed to our rooms, the lobby floors, walls, and everything else were nasty dirty. The rooms were just as bad and had no soap in the dispensers to take a shower. I went to the lobby to check out and spoke to the manager about the parking fee and even though they said no parking on the reservation line, she demanded I pay it anyway. The customer service totally sucks on top of not being a 3 star hotel. You are supposed to accommodate your guests and make them feel at home. Not this place. Out of all of the places I’ve stayed, this is the worst stay ever!

I’ve never been so repulsed by a hotel. First, my company sent a group of 50 of us down here from northern Nevada. They lied to my site manager about the condition of the amenities. We showed up and the whole building REEKS of marajuana. It’s overwhelming and the whole building is swelteringly hot so it makes it even worse. The room is FILTHY. Hand prints and caked on food in the kitchen. DOG AND HUMAN HAIR IN THE BED! They didn’t change the bedding obviously. There are weird stains on the couch and spills all over the place. Gunk splatters on the headboard and rusty vents. The toilet had urine all over it. I can’t wait to get back to the room to take pictures to post here. I’m calling the health department tomorrow. I can’t even begin to describe how run down and filthy this place is. My entire team plans on insisting that our travel department blacklists this place.

I have no idea how this facility rates as highly as it does on Tripadvisor. I came here for a 3 night weekend stay, as it was the only property listed in my company's travel booking system that was close to the convention center, though it was hardly inexpensive. Upon arrival I was told that, since I got there 2 hours before their usual check-in time, they'd need to charge me an extra $30 fee (which is something I've never once seen at any other hotel property). Without my prompting, he then agreed with waive that extra fee. I got checked in and they explained they'd need to charge a deposit (another oddity), and that there is no housekeeping service at this hotel, but I could exchange towels and linens on my own..I'd bring my used towels or linens to the front desk and they'd issue a replacement. What?? I then proceeded to my room. The entire hotel looked dirty overall and it reeked, kind of like when they use cleaners with overpowering smells to clean grocery stores and other facilities when they're trying to cover rotting food or other odors. The elevator was also older and rickety. I entered the room and it was not in good condition or updated in any way, and nothing looked terribly clean. 3 cockroaches scattered. 1 went under the fridge just inside the door, another ran into a corner and a 3rd tried to exit the room. I smashed that one with my foot, closed the door without even entering the room, I immediately went back to the desk and explained in the kindest way possible (even saying "sorry" and explaining I didn't mean to be difficult) that I would not be staying here and politely asked for a full refund. They apologized and accommodated and a woman working at the front desk asked for my room number so she could go and check it. The worst part was that I'd been charged a fairy hefty amount per night to stay here, before taxes and fees. This in a city like Vegas that's full of hotels priced even cheaper than that, even right on the strip, especially in November. After leaving this facility, while still in the parking lot, I used my phone to book a stay at the Westgate up the street. It was a Hilton until about a decade ago and is a palace compared to this Sonesta..And the Westgate only charged me $5 and change more per night to stay there than I was being charged for this Sonesta, even when booking my stay there on the same day I'd be arriving. It should also be noted that I arrived at that Westgate property before their posted check-in time and I was given a room immediately, with no mention of an extra fee or charge to do so. IMO this Sonesta facility should be avoided.
